4 hospitalized on Redwood Avenue in explosion – Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Fire Department (WFPS) says an explosion that occurred in a house on Redwood Avenue Wednesday night may have been caused by a gas leak.

The fire brigade was called to the one-and-a-half-story house at around 11:25 pm, where they found a “well-involved” fire in progress and signs of an explosion.

The fire was under control shortly after midnight.

Four people were treated on site by paramedics and taken to hospital, one in critical condition and three in stable condition.

WFPS is continuing to investigate the cause of the incident but said it may have been due to a gas leak that has ignited.
