The Winnipeg Goldeyes appear to have a new look in mind for their upcoming baseball season.

The team revealed a new logo and branding through a video posted on their website and social media Tuesday morning.

“These changes speak for themselves. Those changes brought us closer together, ”says a voice during the minute-long video, which begins by remembering previous changes the team made before the new logo is revealed.

The new logo no longer includes the team’s now iconic, cartoon-like gold eye wearing a baseball cap and bat.

Instead, a simplified gold eye with a fluttering tail forms the bottom of a letter “G” surrounded by the team’s name, all in a circle.

A post on the team’s website states that the “overlapping elements” of the new logo represent “the rivers that converge in the heart of Winnipeg and the location of our home stadium”.

There is also a gold circle that represents the fisheye and a faint “waterline” that flows through the lower half of the new logo. The team has not yet released any further information on the new logo or details on new uniforms.

The team’s website features photos of various hats, t-shirts, sweaters, and other merchandise with the new logo and other trademarks.
